The Night Circus - So Far...

The Night Circus- Book Review So Far...

Hello my lovelies :-) this week I want to talk to you all about a book I’m reading. It’s called “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern. I’m actually still reading it now, though I’m almost done. I just thought I’d tell you all what I thought so far.

I absolutely love this novel. Its complete fiction and I ADORE it. It’s just completely taken me into a new world, and I have officially escaped reality. It’s set in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s and each new chapter shows a date and is set from different characters perspectives. I’ve never really read anything like it, it’s wonderful, though at the beginning I was very confused as I got into it, and I was amazed. Firstly what confused me were the timelines converging, some going forward and some going back I wasn’t too sure what was going on, but as I read on I got to grips with all of it.  But seriously, this book has actually made me want to run away and join the circus, but not a regular one, this one, though it's spooky and creepy and frightening it would be incredible to actually have a circus like this.

Though I am loving Marco and Celia’s story, them being the glue that holds the book together; I’m finding Poppet and Bailey’s story far more intriguing. Their story is quite interesting, their connection is strong and I really hope their story ends well. I find the descriptions of Caroline from Bailey's point of view, enchanting, he goes into detail of her red hair and white clothes and the way she moves etc.

I have to say the book was not what I expected, when I started reading it I thought it’d be an old-fashioned version of “The Hunger Games” but it turned into something I would have never imagined. Something magical and hypnotizing. I never thought I could be so mesmerized by a book!

Prospero; Celia’s father sincerely interests me. At the beginning I cringed at the training he put his daughter through, yet when he died I was saddened. Though he often re-appears as a ghost it doesn’t have the same affect. He was charming yet frightening, such a marvelous character.

One last thing, I understand the whole ring-burning connection process thingy, but I’m still stuck as to why it’s happening? I get that they un-intentionally control the circus and those who are part of its lives, but again how&why? I’m clueless to when this “challenge” will start and why they are opponents? Is there even a reason? Does anyone care to explain to me? Maybe I’m the clueless one here, I don’t know.

There are so many more characters I’d like to talk about, like Widget and Isobel and Friedrick Herr Thiessen, Chandresh and more about Celia and Marco. But how about instead, you guys tell me what YOU think. Comment and tell me what you think of this incredible book, the atmosphere, the feelings, emotions, people all of it. Tell me!

Lastly, here's a book trailer from you tube that I found really cool! I really, REALLY love the music to this trailer, it makes my imagination go crazy and its literally like i'm there, at the night circus!

See you next week my loves ;-)
