Crazy,Stupid,Love.

Crazy,Stupid,Love

I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas!
So as the rom-com freak I am, I was flicking through the movie channels last night when i found “Crazy,Stupid,Love.” And I thought ‘Hmm, there’s one I haven’t watched yet.’ So I did, and I loved it. It was shocking, un-predictable, funny, cute, and sweet, I thought it was fantastic.

The synopsis of the movie reads: At forty something, straight-laced Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the dream good job, nice house, great kids and marriage to his high school sweetheart. But when Cal learns that his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore), has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his perfect life quickly unravels. The hapless Cal is taken on as wingman and protégé to handsome, thirty something player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling). In an effort to help Cal get over his wife and start living his life, Jacob opens Cal's eyes to the many options before him: flirty women, manly drinks and a sense of style that can't be found at Supercuts or The Gap. But despite Cal's makeover and his many new conquests, the one thing that can't be made over is his heart, which seems to keep leading him back to where he began.
I thought the funniest part of the movie which wasn’t mentioned in the synopsis is the way Cal’s little son (Robbie) who’s 13years old carried a huge crush for his babysitter Jessica. It was so bloody funny when she walked in on him... ‘Doing things to himself’ and he later said that he thought of her when he did it! But sadly Jessica nursed her own giant crush on Robbie’s dad. The 17year old even took naked photos of her to send to Cal, which at the end of the movie she gave to Robbie as a ‘graduation present’. It cracked me up.

My next favourite funny part was when David, Cal, Jacob, and Jessica’s dad all fought each other in the garden, it was class. They all had something against each other because they didn’t have a full understanding of what actually happened.

I thought Hannah and Jacob’s relationship was so cute! I love how she went back to his apartment and the whole dirty dancing thing was sooooooo cute. I liked how they didn’t just ‘bang’ they stayed up all night talking and embracing each other’s company, as Hannah said the ‘PG 13 version’ it was kind of predictable they’d end up together but I still liked it. And when Jacob (Ryan Gosling) took his shirt off! Wow. Yes please!
What wasn’t predictable is that Hannah turned out to be Cal’s daughter. I loved that twist. How Jacob had spend the last few weeks mentoring middle-aged Cal on how to connect with his man-hood and move on from his wife with his womanising ways, and then he fell in love with his daughter! Brilliant.

And finally Cal and Emily. I love how it started off with her wanting a divorce, progressed onto the revelation of her sleeping with someone else, then him sleeping with his son’s English teacher and 8 other women, and finally back around to them falling in love all over again.  Again, very predictable, but still beautiful. I think that’s what I love about rom-coms the predictability of a happy ending.

Shakespeare In Love

Shakespeare in Love - Review
Hello all,
I recently watched the movie "Shakespeare in Love" and wanted to write about it. I quite liked it.
+William Shakespeare
I was expecting an old-fashioned movie with confusing language and that I wouldn't understand the film at all. But I think they've modernised it to an extent to which it's undertsandable but still realistic. Good job there John Madden.

Throughout the film I was completely intreagued, but I don't know if that was because of the goregous eye-candy and accent of Shakespeare (played by Joseph Fiennes) or the story. At first the story was exciting, this rich beautiful maiden, Viola (played by the stunning Gweneth Paltrow) who didn't play by the rules and who do anything to be the woman she wanted to be, even if that meant dressing up like a man.

I loved how the bond between Will and Viola instantly became love after about 2meetings. Similar to Romeo and Juliet, it didn't take long at all for them to fal in love. And when they did, it was magic, Though the love was seen to be wrong and forbidden, it was the most pure, hympnotizing love i'd ever seen. They were so engrossed in eachother. The acting, I thought, was amazing, it's rare, in romantic movies that you're really convinced the lovers are in love. These 2, there was no question, their eyes and expression made you feel all the emotion of every word they spoke. Though maybe that was because the movie was based on the guy who wrote the most intense romance of all time.

I also enjoyed how as their love developed so did the play he was writing, and how you saw the progression of Romeo and Juliet being written.

Lastly, I was exprecting more of an ending. I thought, maybe Lord Wessex or Viola would have suffered a major death or trauma. But it was very simplictic, quite sad though. Viola was forced by the Queen to join her husband Lord Wessex in Virginia, whilst Will Shakespeare must remain in London and he carried on writing plays. Though I was expecting more drama, I thought it was very clever how at the end it showed Will basing his next very well known play "Twelth Night" on his love, Viola.

Overall, not the best movie I've ever seen, but I'd watch it again and reccommend it to you guys.

Anyway, I hope you all have a VERY Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I'll write to you all in 2013 ;)
Seasons Greetings!

The X Factor - Final

Those of you who have been watching The X Factor UK this year know that last night Christopher Maloney went home last night much to my relief. And there are 2finalists left, two young brilliant, hot guys with incredible voices. Jahmene Douglas “The little guy from asda with the big voice.” And James Arthur, the big tough guy from the small unknown town. But I want to take this opportunity to talk about all the 12 finalists.
Carolynne Poole- After being in the judges houses last year with Louis’s lot, her confidence was knocked when she didn’t get through, but she came back fighting and ended up with Gary’s lot this year. She was a country singer and the first to leave. If I’m honest I wasn’t a huge Carolynne fan, as Gary said, she does have a great voice, and it’s just really not my cup of tea. If I’m listening to country music it’s only Taylor Swift.

Melanie Masson-. I actually loved Melanie’s voice. And her style. Her personality. She seemed so awesome. I mean that voice, plus that amazing hair, topped off with her down-to-earth personality was amazing. I thought her voice was strong and powerful, but I don’t think she would have won, but I did think she was better than District 3.
MK1- After letting one of their band mates go in the auditions and making it into the live shows as a duet, MK1 were in the bottom 2 with Kye Sones, week 3. I flipping loved MK1. I loved their unique-ness, their energy, their look and their chemistry together. No, they weren’t the strongest vocalists but together I think they had the potential to go quite far and I think it’s a shame they were let go so early on in the competition.

Jade Ellis- She had a bad throat in week 4, and was sent home. Jade Ellis, the beautiful, young, inspirational mum with a killer voice lost out. I loved Jade, I thought she deserved to do well, and she was so strong. Despite everything she’s such a beautiful happy person. And I think she’ll still go far now, I hope now that her and her little girl will live happily ever after :)
Lucy Spraggan- After being ill for the second week in a row, Lucy was sadly withdrawn from the competition. I loved Lucy; I thought her audition was so so good. I’ve actually downloaded that song and I’ve been playing it over and over. I thought she was such a great songwriter, but again not the strongest vocalist in the competition. What I really want for her is to write a song/collaborate with Ed Sheeran that would be a dream come true for me.

Kye Sones- week 5, the week we lost Kye. He was the chimney sweep that everybody sympathised. I never usually loved Kye’s performances but when he sang “I won’t give up.” In the bottom 2 with Rylan I thought he sounded amazing, like super amazing and I don’t think he should have gone.

District 3- Not much to say about District 3, I never really liked them. I respect what they do and I think their voices are nice, not great. I always kind of preferred Union J, I wasn’t really sorry to see them go in week6.
Ella Henderson- Week7, the biggest shock yet, when 16year old Ella was eliminated. Everybody thought Ella was a sure finalist and NOBODY expected her to go home at this stage. Not only that, but she was in the bottom 2 with James Arthur. Now somebody tell me that makes sense? I was devastated that she went home, but also glad James stayed. Ella will go really really far despite this.

Rylan Clark- Rylan is marmite. You love him or you hate him. I personally loved him, I thought he was a brilliant entertainer and when everyone hates on him it really makes me sad.  When he came back last night and sang ‘gangnam style’, I was ecstatic; I literally got him and started dancing along with him. I think after this, everyone is gonna want a bit of Rylan.
Union J- Not my favourite act in the competition, but Union J were pretty good. Not only that I think since their audition, and Josh being put with the, they’ve matured so much, they’re hot, they’ve got good voices  that harmonise nicely together and I think they’re gonna do well, though there may be a little competition between them and my favourite boy-band, ONE DIRECTION<3

Christopher Maloney- Right, well I don’t mean to sound rude, but why was Chris even still in the competition? I do respect what he does, and I think his voice is ok. But when acts like Jade and Ella have been eliminated and he’s still there it worries me. They are two incredibly talented girls, and though Chris “can sing” in some people’s opinion, I really think he should have gone home week2, instead of Melanie.
Finalists
Jahmene Douglas- “From frozen foods to warming hearts.” Nicole’s little lamb chop, Jahmene is un-doubtabley one of the most adorable people ever. His smile and laugh and shyness is the cutest thing. But when he sings, damn does that shy little boy go away, he’s got a fantastic voice and last night he stole the hearts of everyone in Britain. Whether he wins now or not, he’ll never have to go back to his job in Asda; Jahmene Douglas is going to be one of the most successful singers in 2013. I think he’s got a bright beautiful future.
James Arthur- Damn, James bloody Arthur is just wow. Words do not even begin to cover how great he is. His first performance last night blew me away, I was speechless. He sings with such attitude and meaning, you can literally feel the emotions he is feeling. His voice is an utter eargasm. And as well as that, he’s un-believably sexy. He’s been getting so much female attention ;) I know me and my friends totally fan girl over him. He’s gorgeous and I don’t wanna be biased but I want him to win!
So tonight is the final, who do you lot think will win? Comment below and let me know J

Ciao!

I disapeared.

Hello loyal readers,

I don't know how many of you visit my blog regularly, but if you do you'll notice i've been absent for quite some time. I do have a reason, but it's not very good. I've been procrastinating, doing homework, thinking, being an idiot mostly. But I am happy to say I am trying to get back on track with things.

I've got a little homework to do today but i'm hoping to finish quickly and write a post. I am not promising anything but I will try my best. I miss writing! I wanted to write about breaking dawn part 2, this book I read, some new music, but I've just been a bit of a bozo.

So I gotta go work now but I'll write soon :)

Current top 40- review

Current top 40- review
The first song I am going to talk about is Little Mix- Wings. It’s currently at number 26 in the charts. The group, which were formerly on The X Factor released this new single and it was a huge hit. I’ve heard people singing it around school for weeks, it’s really catchy and fun. Most songs with a deep meaning are slow and sad, but this one was up-beat and loud and different.  The key lyrics in the song that put across the message are “Your words don't mean a thing. I'm not listening. Keep talking, all I know is, Mamma told me not to waste my life, She said spread your wings my little butterfly, Don't let what they say keep you up at night, And they can't detain you 'Cos wings are made to fly And we don't let nobody bring us down No matter what you say it won't hurt me Don't matter if I fall from the sky These wings are made to fly.”  These words are evidently talking about bullying and people trying to bring you down and make you feel like nothing. So the girls are basically singing about how they don’t care, you have to be strong and carry on. Don’t listen to haters, just keep your head held high. Bullying is a HUGE teenage issue, so this song is really motivational and inspiring I think. Trying to convince the teens that you are worth something  no matter what anybody says. Don’t let them stop you, just go for it. I love these lyrics because they are strong and powerful and put you in a good mood.

The next song I want to talk about briefly is Taylor Swift – We Are Never Getting Back Together, currently at number 9 on the charts. Another up-beat, fun song. It’s quite a funny song really, but ironically realistic. The part of it that interests me is “Then you come around again and say "Baby, I miss you and I swear I'm gonna change, trust me." Remember how that lasted for a day? I say, "I hate you," we break up, you call me, "I love you.” Then, “Uggg, so he calls me up and he's like, "I still love you," And I'm like... "I just... I mean this is exhausting, you know, like, We are never getting back together. Like, ever.” I think Taylor is basically explaining how confusing, silly, and in-decisive teens are about relationships. And it’s quite funny because she’s showing, in the lyrics how they exaggerate it all and makes it sound so dramatic over a relationship that’s probably lasted like 2months. I do quite like these lyrics because it’s realistic. I hear girls around the school talking about boys like that, and the thing is, I do it to. Because it is part of being a teenage girl, having teen boy dramas.

The last song I want to talk about is Labrinth ft. Emeli Sande – Beneath Your Beautiful, currently at number 1 in the charts! This recent collaboration took me by surprise but I really like it. It’s such a beautiful song that will just make you smile and think. These lyrics are about love, but not just a normal lovey-dovey song, far more deep. “You tell all the boys no Makes you feel good yeah I know you’re out of my league But that won’t scare me way out no You’ve carried on so long You couldn’t stop if you tried it You’ve built your wall so high That no one could climb it But I’m gonna try. Would you let me see beneath your beautiful Would you let me see beneath your perfect Take it off now girl, take it off now girl I wanna see inside Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight.” It’s about a guy who finds this girl who’s a challenge; she doesn’t let her guard down and doesn’t want complications such as boys in her life. She tries to block it out, but it’s difficult. Labrinth is saying no matter how big the challenge, he cares about this girl so he is going to try and climb that wall. I think it’s such a pretty song because it’s about strength and when it’s sometimes not needed; sometimes its ok t let people and emotions in. I think the reason the girl is blocking people out is probably because of something that’s happened in her past. A lot of teenagers try to put up this front, of strength and dignity. Trying not to let people to close because they’re scared. I’m like that quite a lot of the time. Because I’m afraid that attachment leads to expectations and expectations lead to disappointment. The fear of losing somebody is equal to the fear of letting somebody into your life. And I think that’s what this song is trying to explain.

Overall all of these songs have VERY different meanings and all are teen issues. There are a few other songs I would have loved to write about, Like Robbie Williams- Candy another song about putting up a front, and lack of self-esteem. And One Direction- Little Things, again about extremely un-confident self-conscious girls. All of these are big problems with teenagers and I think music really helps them I mean nothing is better than when a song describes exactly how you’re feeling.

The Vampire Diaries Returns to the UK 4x01

The Vampire Diaries 4x01
OH MY GOSH. OH MY GOSH. OH MY FREAKING GOSH! It’s back! Life is complete; happiness is restored as the Salvatore brothers return to my TV screen. Oh how I’ve missed them.

Now that I’m calm I want to tell you what I thought of the first episode of season4. Firstly, Elena going through transition was incredible. You never get to see how they feel, or what things are like from their point of view. For a human transitioning into this whole new species. The way they showed her getting confused, the lights causing her to get headaches and making her dizzy. Also remembering all Damon’s compulsion was genius, when she walked into her bedroom and thought Damon was actually there and then saw what happened between them not so long ago. I thought it was very cleverly done, they chose the perfect scene to show us and her facial expressions said it all. I think she definitely still loves Damon although she chose Stefan. Lastly, about this, Elena is HOT as a vampire! She was beautiful anyway, and though you only see her in full vampire mode for a few seconds you could see the change. The anger in her face, and heightened emotions, and red eyes and veiny face. Loved it.

Next, The Klaroline scenes. Man, I was loving those. My favourite line from the whole episode “I have to go sanitise my mouth.” Oh how I love those two. I think later in the season they’ll get together. I’m so glad that Klaus is back in his own body. Klaus in Tyler’s body wasn’t doing it for me, it just didn’t feel right. Klaus and Caroline, in my opinion are even more perfect than the Salvatore brothers and Elena!

Rebekah was being such a b*tch all episode(apart from her little outburst at the start after the loss of her dear brother and helping Stefan get blood for Elena) with picking on Elena in the vervain prisons, and making her sharp sarcastic comments, but then she was so devastated after what her brother said to her. After finding Klaus alive you can tell she wanted him to be happy to see her, and wanted him to love her, but then he goes and says she’s nothing to him?! I feel so bad for Rebekah!

Poor Bonnie in this episode! Yikes, that was bad; she should not tap into dark magic. It’s so wrong; she looked, sounded and obviously was in pain. Gosh, how I wish she’d listened to Sheila. But I don’t quite know what happened when they held hands and the dark veins seeped through. I thought Jeremy handled the situation very well considering what’s going on in his life. And Bonnie and Jeremy are so obviously still in love.

FINALLY, STELENA BABEY! In the vervain prisons when they were on opposite sides and they were talking about how they loved each other, I wanted to jump in the tv and knock down that wall! And at the end when they held hands and talked about spending eternity together, it just made me so happy. Although she certainly hasn’t got over Damon, I root for Stelena so I’m happy (for now!).  Damon was such a badass this episode though, ha-ha, “Hello, big bad vampire out here.” His comments crack me up.

Lastly, I do not like that weird pastor guy. Like what the heck does he think he’s doing? Does he honestly think he can beat the vampires? Also, at the end when he set all the council members alight, I have a theory. That he put vampire blood in all their tea’s and killed them so when they come back to life they’ll be vampires, so they can kill the vampires.

I’d just like to comment once more on how much I miss Alaric. I wish more than anything he was in the show again, he was fantastic. I hope they bring him back. Please? :(

Here’s my favourite scene from the episode. Enjoy guys. Seeya all soon!

TVD season4 -my excitment

 My excitement about season4
Hello my little freaks of the internet, long time no see! Right well a while go I wrote a review on the season 3 finale of The Vampire Diaries (I’m still basking in the amazing-ness of it) and well, it’s not long now until season 4 premiers. Though they haven’t given the UK an exact date, it starts up in the USA again on October 11th so it should be in the UK around the end of October- beginning of November time. So I want to talk to you guys about   what I’m expecting, what I want and what I don’t want.

My main concern, I WANT ALARIC BACK I want Bonnie to find some kind of spell and bring him back. I love Alaric so so much, he was so great with Damon and now the show is short of a sexy, badass vampire hunter! Also, who is going to be the legal guardian of Elena and Jeremy?! Their parents looked after them, dead. Jenna looked after them, dead. Now Alaric looked after them, dead. Gosh! I’d love to see him come back as a ghost in a few episodes though, talking to Jeremy, guiding him, because he’s incredible and I will miss him so much this season.

Another thing I want so bad is Klaroline. Klaus is just ... words do not describe how freaking hot and dominating he is. He’s intimidating, scary, sexy, powerful, intelligent, deep, thoughtful, cunning, sly etc. He has so much knowledge of the world and nobody to share it with. He may be evil but he’s perfectly evil. A fallen angel. But like he said small town, small town guy, won’t be enough for head strong Caroline. She desires more, something more passionate than her and Tyler. And if they do get together I honestly believe their love will be stronger than Delena’s or Stelena’s because the strength and hope and destiny of these two people is un-believable.

What I don’t want is Jeremy getting another girlfriend. He’s had 3. Two dead and one broken up with. It wouldn’t be right him having another girl friend, if anything I want him back with Bonnie. But I’m not too sure; maybe Bonnie would be better with Jamie. Bonnie’s been through so much, It’s difficult to understand what she needs right now. Maybe she needs to be single for a while.

Matt, sweet innocent Matt. I want him to have more of a role in season4. In previous seasons he’s been the one who gets left out, has no remaining connections with anyone. He was kind of just there. I think it would be great if he got really involved in some of the action. Because  he’s attitude is kind of care-free, he wants to protect the people he loves, no matter what the consequences are. He’s kill and die for them, and I’d like to see that happen this season.

And finally, I know I will get so much grief for saying this but I ship Stelena. Completely and utterly, through and through. Stefan and Elena are the power duo. He lets her make her own choices as well as loving, protecting and adoring her. Maybe Damon can show her passion and excitement and a love that consumes her, but Stefan can give her a future. A fun, loving, happy future. And I think he could show her just as much as Damon if he learnt self-control when going on those blood binges. I've shipped Stelena since day one and I won’t stop now. But let's see what choice the new raging vampire Elena will make. That's another thing I cannot wait to see, how she changes, all her emotions will be heightened so it'll be awesome to see what she'll be like!

Any who, that’s all I have to say. All my TVDFamily on twitter and anywhere else, feel free to leave comments on what you want and think. Though you've all probably all seen it, here’s the season4 trailer, you know you won’t be able to resist, you wanna watch it again, don’t ya ;)

Sorry

Hello my loves!

Just wanted to say sorry. Sorry that I haven't posted in a while, and guess why? Yeah, back to school. And teachers thought "hey they're in year 9, lets give them a sh*t load of homework so they have no fun" so hey ho, I have a lot of work to do. But seeing as I am sick ( I have the flu and a monstrous cough ) I have nothing to do.

I am bored. Not bored like, hmm I'll randomly search the internet and I'll be ok, bored like, I've done all my homework, watched 10episodes of The Vampire Diaries, cleaned my room, cleaned, read my book, and wrote in my journal for an hour bored. It sucks,

And since I'm off school I thought I'd post. But I have no ideas! So yeah, any of you guys wanna reccomend anything, tweet, email, comment. Please, put me out of this boring misery.

Ciao ;)

The Night Circus - Completed

The Night Circus – Completed

Well its official, I WANT TO JOIN THIS CIRCUS! I just finished reading this book, after posting on Wednesday I was determined to finish ASAP. And I was not disappointed at all. It was truly incredible. So I shall carry on and let you all know what I thought of the ending...

The way it all panned out was un-expected but brilliant. I was pleased with the outcomes of all the storylines. The fact that Bailey is now owner of the circus makes me want to join even more!

The intensity confused me slightly when Marco & Celia kind of took away their human forms, though they were still there and had each other they were kind of alone, they detached themselves from the “game” and stayed with each other, which was a lovely (kind of) happy ending.  What I found sad was the deaths of Chandresh and Friedrick Herr Theissen. I mean of all people I would have loved for Friedrick to live, he was so great, and Celia’s dear friend. It would have been interesting to see how he dealt with what happened to her.

Widget and Poppet were probably my favourite characters. Their stories turned out well, if there was a sequel (which I don’t think there should be because this book cannot be outdone) I presume Poppet and Bailey would get together, so cute! Widget and Alexander’s conversation was a little scary but deep and good, it showed what was to come for the young boy.

Also I loved the way Prospero (Hector Bowen) popped up frequently toward the end, his cruelty kind of made the book funnier, I enjoyed it. Some may say I’m odd but I really did, his way of mind was awful but the way he talked to Celia was wrong but it made me giggle for some reason.

Any who, I shall stop going on and on now. And I know I have already said this, but I loved this book. I loved it I loved it I loved it! To finish I found this review online of the book and thought it was very accurate, especially how she talked about the beauty of the book, the cover, the book mark the black pages, it was gorgeous. And I really hope it does get turned into a film! It would be so amazing to watch but could it live up to the book?

One last note, I’m off to Wales this weekend to go to this cool Hindu mandir on top of a hill or something so I’m excited! I probably won’t be posting about it until Tuesday, and after that I’m back to school (on my birthday! 5th September) so yeah, seeya all soon :)

The Night Circus - So Far...

The Night Circus- Book Review So Far...

Hello my lovelies :-) this week I want to talk to you all about a book I’m reading. It’s called “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern. I’m actually still reading it now, though I’m almost done. I just thought I’d tell you all what I thought so far.

I absolutely love this novel. Its complete fiction and I ADORE it. It’s just completely taken me into a new world, and I have officially escaped reality. It’s set in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s and each new chapter shows a date and is set from different characters perspectives. I’ve never really read anything like it, it’s wonderful, though at the beginning I was very confused as I got into it, and I was amazed. Firstly what confused me were the timelines converging, some going forward and some going back I wasn’t too sure what was going on, but as I read on I got to grips with all of it.  But seriously, this book has actually made me want to run away and join the circus, but not a regular one, this one, though it's spooky and creepy and frightening it would be incredible to actually have a circus like this.

Though I am loving Marco and Celia’s story, them being the glue that holds the book together; I’m finding Poppet and Bailey’s story far more intriguing. Their story is quite interesting, their connection is strong and I really hope their story ends well. I find the descriptions of Caroline from Bailey's point of view, enchanting, he goes into detail of her red hair and white clothes and the way she moves etc.

I have to say the book was not what I expected, when I started reading it I thought it’d be an old-fashioned version of “The Hunger Games” but it turned into something I would have never imagined. Something magical and hypnotizing. I never thought I could be so mesmerized by a book!

Prospero; Celia’s father sincerely interests me. At the beginning I cringed at the training he put his daughter through, yet when he died I was saddened. Though he often re-appears as a ghost it doesn’t have the same affect. He was charming yet frightening, such a marvelous character.

One last thing, I understand the whole ring-burning connection process thingy, but I’m still stuck as to why it’s happening? I get that they un-intentionally control the circus and those who are part of its lives, but again how&why? I’m clueless to when this “challenge” will start and why they are opponents? Is there even a reason? Does anyone care to explain to me? Maybe I’m the clueless one here, I don’t know.

There are so many more characters I’d like to talk about, like Widget and Isobel and Friedrick Herr Thiessen, Chandresh and more about Celia and Marco. But how about instead, you guys tell me what YOU think. Comment and tell me what you think of this incredible book, the atmosphere, the feelings, emotions, people all of it. Tell me!

Lastly, here's a book trailer from you tube that I found really cool! I really, REALLY love the music to this trailer, it makes my imagination go crazy and its literally like i'm there, at the night circus!

See you next week my loves ;-)

Obsessive Fans

Twitter Fan bases

Good Morning! The matter I want to discuss with you all this week is fan bases via social networking sites. Like, we all know the basic ones, e.g “directioners” (1D), “The TW Fanmily”(The Wanted), “TVD Family”(The Vampire Diaries), “Rihanna Navy”(Rihanna), “Katy Cats” (Katy Perry), and “Glamberts” (Adam Lambert) etc. and we all think it’s  all well and good and don’t really give it a second thought. But have any of you ever thought that it’s kind of creepy that fans would spam their favourite stars ‘@mentions’ 24/7 and tweet pictures of them and constantly talk about them?

Personally, I have to admit, I am a member of the “TVD Family” but not in a creepy/obsessive way. I occasionally tweet pictures I like of the cast, or tweet about them or talk to other members via twitter. But hey, I can’t help it, I’m a teenage girl who casually fangirls over vampire romance. But JHEEZ, some of the other fans are completely compelled and owned by these celebs. It’s like that’s all that matters to them in life! I mean it can be ok sometimes if you occasionally do it, and don’t talk about it all the time, I mean there are other things in life apart from these stars.

The obsessions they have over celebs is crazy. It’s like it’s what their lives revolve around, having a love and passion for something is different to having and obsession and being totally possessed by their being. My twitted bio reads “I love #TheVampireDiaries...” Which is true, I honestly adore the show. The storylines intrigue me, and the acting is amazing, but unlike others I don’t let it become my life. I know there are other things in life accept for my favourite celebs. Like, sometimes when stars reply to their fans tweets, they go crazy and tell everyone and go on about it for months. It’s mental; I mean yeah, be happy your idol tweeted you but don’t let it be the only thing you talk/think about for the next 3months of your life!

But also on a serious note, it can actually be dangerous; some crazy fans rarely risk their lives and will do anything to meet their fave celebs. Or things can even get threatening. An example of threatening fan behaviour is a recent incident that occurred involving the 1D boys, let’s just say, they met a girl, zayn wanted to date her, fans found out and spammed her twitter and facebook with threats, etc etc. I won’t go into too much detail, but if you want the full story: 1D fans bully girl out 1D fans bully girl out of Zayn Malik date.

Happy Independence Day India!

Happy Independence Day India!

Hey everyone  I’d like to start off by saying Happy Independence Day! As many of you know, I am Indian. Though my ethnic origins are spread across two continenents, Africa and Asia; I am a proud Indian. And today, Wednesday 15th August is our independence day. The day we finally won our freedom and became a sovereign nation. I myself don’t actually know that much about the day, so I’ve enjoyed doing a little research myself and expanding my knowledge.

So here are some interesting facts I found out about the day:
  • It’s a national holiday in India.
  •  A flagship event takes place every year in Delhi where the Prime Minister puts up the national flag and follows it up with a speech.
  • The day is then celebrated a lot with parades and other cultural events.
  • The only other 2 public holiday’s in India are Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti(Gandhi’s birthday) ―Tuesday, October 2 and Republic Day ―Thursday, January 26.
  •  One of the known famous quotes about the day: "At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new...India discovers herself again." - Jawaharlal Nehru.
  •  People often use the phrase “Jai Hind!” on the day which means roughly “victory to India”.
I've really loved reading more about this remarkable day and learning more about my origin. I hope all my fellow Indians and all people of India have a lovely Independence Day! I've got Gandhi on my sky+ planner and I intend on watching it for the first time tonight! I’ll leave you with my favourite Independence Day quote; “A true Indian isn't one who puts up flags on the 15th but someone who picks up discarded flags on the 16th and feels proud to be Indian all year round.”

On&Off Celeb Couples- Riri&Chris, Gaga&Taylor and KStew&RPatz

On-Again Off-Again Celeb Couples

Hello my lovely readers, I’m trying out new writing techniques and think maybe it’s time I stop writing review after review, though I love it and it’s what I’m comfortable with I think it’s time for change. So, this week I have some news on some on&off celeb couples who you’ve all probably heard about in the last few weeks.

 1. Rihanna& Chris Brown- right now they are: ON. Well, reportedly, there have been rumours flooding through the press recently, stories about them partying together, talking to each other etc. Then they went and recorded a track together (“Birthday Cake”) and her good friend Jay-Z said he was disappointed in her for communicating with him. But recently Jay seems to have given his blessing to the couple if they wish to rekindle their romance. A source claims “She admitted they're pretty much back on and Jay told her they're all behind her and want her to be happy.” Aww what a good friend, right? Rihanna’s own brother even says that the two are “soul mates”. Infact I heard Chris is flying out to Barbados to visit her. I actually wrote a little piece on the two of them here; Rihanna&Chris Brown. Personally I don’t think we’ll ever hear the end of this little love affair.

The Loved-Up couple before she cheated.
 2. Kristen Stewart& Robert Pattinson- right now they are: OFF. I’m sure you’ve ALL heard about this recent scandal. The couple started dating in 2008 when the Twilight saga started and again, rumours have just been taking over magazines with stories that they’ve broken up and gotten back together all the time. But now the little “Trampire” has gone and cheated on poor old RPatz! She had an affair with the MARRIED director of her movie “Snow White& The Huntsman”; Rupert Sanders. Not only married, but he has kids! Both the cheaters have released statements apologising. Kristen& Rob were even talking about having a child together after the Twilight’s were all done& dusted. Personally I adore the Twilight movies, and I think Kristen plays Bella superbly as the frail fidgety character she’s meant to be. But I didn’t think she could’ve played a heroine or villain, just the girl that relies on others to keep her safe. I didn’t think she had the personality for it, I didn’t think she took risks or was ballsy enough. Evidently I was wrong. Apparently she fears the future of their relationship and is acting like a heartbroken teenager. It’s Rob I feel bad for, next week he’ll be appearing on his first
TV show to talk about this incident, I really hope he moves on from that boring, cheating, nasty woman.

Pictures of her with "The Other Guy"
 3. Lady Gaga& Taylor Kinney- right now they are: ON. I was actually ecstatic when I heard about this little relationship! Not only am I a fan of Lady Gaga’s music but Taylor Kinney guest-starred in my all time favourite TV show; THE VAMPIRE DIARIES! He played incredibly sexy werewolf-Mason Lockwood. Him and Gaga. The pair started their relationship in late 2011, and since then they have been very happy until recently they had a little lovers-tiff and separated for a short while, but now it’s all good. They’re back together and look very happy as they pose naked in a pool together. Hmm, well you can’t exactly expect normal pictures of them together, it is Lady Gaga remember!
So overall the last few months have been super lively in the celeb relationship category. Not only with these on& off couples but the sad break-up of Michelle Keegan and Max George, and also the beautiful marriage of Marvin Humes and Rochelle Wiseman. And I’m sure there’s plenty more make-ups, break-ups, new couples to come in the next few months!

Lemar- Invincible review

Lemar-Invincible

34 year old singer Lemar is back baby! *crazy-dances around the room* WOO! The amazing singer has graced us with his latest song “Invincible” and the best words I can think of to describe it are dazzling and delicate. It’s officially released on August 12th but you can pre-order now on iTunes.

At the beginning of the video you expect a fairytale; it starts off at the beach with him singing and a beautiful woman in a stunning wedding dress walking. You automatically think that they’re getting married and its all happiness, puppies, and rainbows. That’s what I thought anyway.
The two kids at the beginning of the video that represent him and his female companion as children, are GORGEOUS, don’t you think? Honestly I think that scene is the sweetest part. Where the little boy gives the little girl a flower and they hug, it’s just so cute! They’re honestly two of the most adorable kids I’ve ever seen. Then the king sent his soldiers to tear them apart, which at the end of the video you will see if it worked successfully.

Then eventually, the adorable little kids turn into teens/young adults. And they continue to run away from any problems they faced, as he stands there proclaiming “the love that we had took us up, flew away” they just continued running, showing infact their love was “Invincible”. Literally though, whenever these two people were together, whether it was as kids, teens or adults they seemed elated with each other, so engrossed in the other, and on top of the world.

Then comes the bit that jerked my heart so hard I almost cried. Lemar was on his motorbike, looking really hot in a classy suit and bam, they’re together, she’s in the wedding dress and they ride together so you assume they’re going to get married. But no. He’s driving her to her wedding, not theirs. Like they said at the beginning “there was a king, he had soldiers, they had orders, to tear us apart” and as you can see through the course of the video the “soldiers” pop up frequently, and well, you can guess the rest. The love she once had with Lemar was replaced. She’d chosen one of the soldiers to marry. Though he took her to her wedding even though he loved him shows a truly beautiful friendship. It just made my sad when he sang “Wish that you had chosen me instead” and his little puppy-dog face, n’awhhhh!

I mean with such powerful lyrics like “they can’t take you away from me” and “we were invincible” it just didn’t seem like it was going to end that way. It was quite a twist! The words to the song are really telling the story of these two people, it takes you through each part. Like, I could watch the video without sounds and understand it, and I could listen to the song without the video and understand it. Personally, I think the main message of this song is that if you love someone you want them to be happy, even if you’re not a part of their happiness.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, LEMAR TWEETED ME! OMG, OMG OMG! Woah, sorry, fan girl moment over. I tweeted him expressing my love for his new song and he tweeted me back a winky-face. I know it’s just a winky face but, WOOHOO. I feel special: D
Any who, I can’t really find anything bad to say about this song/video, its simplicity was bliss and I think it’ll definitely be making a change in the charts soon.

Also, just one last message. I’ve had my blog for exactly a year today and I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have read my posts. I really love writing for you guys and remember if you have any questions, suggestions or anything at all to say to me just email me: shriya98@live.co.uk or tweet me: @shriya_TVD. Leona Lewis- Collide

Leona Lewis ft. Avicii –Collide

Right, well firstly I’d like to say, HEY: D I bet you’re all hyped up for the summer holidays and I hope you all have a great one. Also since it’s the holidays now I will be trying to post a lot more often, though at some points I’ll be staying with relatives, going out, etc etc. But I hope you’ll all check regularly to see if I’ve posted my lovely loyal readers. Here's a review I wrote a little while back and never posted, I thought it'd be a nice way to kick -start my summer posts.

Leona Lewis’s single ‘Collide’ is a huge summery anthem and extremely popular with the nation after her last album (Echo) failed to reach number one in the charts Leona went back to the drawing board and now has a fabulous song and video. She has also announced her latest album will be named ‘Glass Heart’.

After winning the X Factor 2007 she has released 2album’s a book and a perfume (which has not been released in the UK). She’s blatantly one of X Factors biggest successes.

This brilliant new single (which she collaborated with Swedish DJ Avicii on) is very different to her usual slow soulful music like ‘Run’ or ‘I See You’ it’s got more of a dance diva vibe to it, set on a sunny beach giving a very happy mood, it has kind of an ‘Ibiza Party’ theme to it.  It was actually produced by the same people who produced work from the likes of Rihanna, Katy Perry and David Guetta.

During the video there’s a lot of smiles and dancing, it’s got a very summery look to it, she’s seen with 2guys throughout the video dancing and flirting, she seems very confident and outgoing, and I think whilst making the video the genuinely had fun. She’s good friends with the boys from One Direction and they where tweeting each other about their new video’s this week when Leone wished Liam Payne a happy birthday he replied ‘ Thanks babe (: I need to watch your new video xxx’

Her dress sense in the video is fun, from her polka dot bikini to her light feminine dress, she looks amazing in both, and she’s is wearing very minimum makeup apart from on her eyes which looks pretty and sweet.

I adore Leona in general but this song was just the cherry on top of the cake. It’s so fun and loud, I could literally listen to it again and again, she’s got such a unique voice and personality, she’s not just like your average singer, she isn’t afraid to try something new, she won’t stick to the same type of thing again and again, and I believe experimenting is what builds you up, she is a idol to many. The video is amazing too, all the different people and outfits and the setting was just stunning, she has really been blessed with such a beautiful voice.

Katy Perry - Wide Awake video review

Katy Perry- Wide Awake video review

Katy Perry’s music video for her new song ‘Wide Awake’ is quite a treat for the eyes isn’t it? It’s probably one of the most fascinating complex wonderful things I’ve ever seen. Visually I was mesmerized.  From bulls heads to ground breaking mirrors and mazes, there’s so much to say about this video so I’ll get started, shall I?

The pop star who recently attended the premiere to her new documentary movie (“Part Of Me”) starts off by filming the video to one of her previous songs, ‘California Girls’ then goes to her dressing room and has some kind of daydream, an epiphany if you will. And tree branches expand from her head almost as if her mind is branching out and she has a realisation.  Then she’s in this maze, a twisted dark labyrinth, and she’s searching through it, I think she’s trying to find a way out. It’s enchanting. The dark walls with twisted branches seeping over and the light snow it all very stunning. It must’ve taken a genius to envision such an original video.

Then whilst searching she finds this strawberry. Its bright red and up against the dark walls it stands out. I think the strawberry represents temptation and decision. She chooses to eat the strawberry and next she finds the younger version of herself. kind of like her own mini-me They are soon led into this hallway of mirrors. The mirrors represent visions of the future I think, Katy puts her hand on one of the mirrors and see’s camera’s constantly flashing, paparazzi in her face, as if to say she won’t have any life or privacy then the ground behind her crumbles while her mini-me tries to warn her. Then they are led into a hospital.

Now the hospital scene I like, the little Katy is pushing big Katy in a wheelchair, now big Katy is all ill and droopy, clutching the strawberry she’d eaten earlier. So obviously the strawberry had poisoned her (a little Snow White if you ask me) and she doesn’t seem conscious. In the hallway in front of them are two men with bullheads. They stand firm like guards, I think these men represent a trap or wall, she’s stuck and they won’t let her go. Then little Katy stamps her foot and the bulls fly up and disappear and big Katy regains consciousness. Showing us maybe a new Katy, when she re-appears she looks lighter, brighter and more floral in comparison to her previous look which was dark but strangely elegant. I think this meant it was a trap that only she could free herself from. That’s how I’ve interpreted it anyway.

From the hospital they appear in this magical floral garden right opposite to the dark scary maze she was in before. And there waiting is a Prince Charming on his trusty steed. I think this man could represent Russell, as he gets up and kisses her hand his fingers are crossed, little Katy warns her and she punches him right round the gob. It actually made me giggle. I think she is showing that you should be careful who you trust.
The two girls exchange happiness and celebrate. Then little Katy puts a butterfly into big Katy’s hand and they hug and she rides off on her bike. Katy appears in her dressing room moments later and goes on to perform her single “Teenage Dream” on stage.

There’s much more I’d like to talk about like the lyrics and how I think they’re referring to her recent marriage break up with Russell Brand, the whole video kind of tells a story of recently occurring events in her life, but I’m sure that’s quite self-explanatory. So overall I absolutely adore this video. It was just gorgeous, fun to watch, like a story, I couldn't stop watching because I needed to know what happened to her. I think it’s telling us to expect a brand new character in her new album. That really does excite me. So that’s a wrap to the “Teenage Dream” album. How fantastic.
