Crazy,Stupid,Love.

Crazy,Stupid,Love

I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas!
So as the rom-com freak I am, I was flicking through the movie channels last night when i found “Crazy,Stupid,Love.” And I thought ‘Hmm, there’s one I haven’t watched yet.’ So I did, and I loved it. It was shocking, un-predictable, funny, cute, and sweet, I thought it was fantastic.

The synopsis of the movie reads: At forty something, straight-laced Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the dream good job, nice house, great kids and marriage to his high school sweetheart. But when Cal learns that his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore), has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his perfect life quickly unravels. The hapless Cal is taken on as wingman and protégé to handsome, thirty something player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling). In an effort to help Cal get over his wife and start living his life, Jacob opens Cal's eyes to the many options before him: flirty women, manly drinks and a sense of style that can't be found at Supercuts or The Gap. But despite Cal's makeover and his many new conquests, the one thing that can't be made over is his heart, which seems to keep leading him back to where he began.
I thought the funniest part of the movie which wasn’t mentioned in the synopsis is the way Cal’s little son (Robbie) who’s 13years old carried a huge crush for his babysitter Jessica. It was so bloody funny when she walked in on him... ‘Doing things to himself’ and he later said that he thought of her when he did it! But sadly Jessica nursed her own giant crush on Robbie’s dad. The 17year old even took naked photos of her to send to Cal, which at the end of the movie she gave to Robbie as a ‘graduation present’. It cracked me up.

My next favourite funny part was when David, Cal, Jacob, and Jessica’s dad all fought each other in the garden, it was class. They all had something against each other because they didn’t have a full understanding of what actually happened.

I thought Hannah and Jacob’s relationship was so cute! I love how she went back to his apartment and the whole dirty dancing thing was sooooooo cute. I liked how they didn’t just ‘bang’ they stayed up all night talking and embracing each other’s company, as Hannah said the ‘PG 13 version’ it was kind of predictable they’d end up together but I still liked it. And when Jacob (Ryan Gosling) took his shirt off! Wow. Yes please!
What wasn’t predictable is that Hannah turned out to be Cal’s daughter. I loved that twist. How Jacob had spend the last few weeks mentoring middle-aged Cal on how to connect with his man-hood and move on from his wife with his womanising ways, and then he fell in love with his daughter! Brilliant.

And finally Cal and Emily. I love how it started off with her wanting a divorce, progressed onto the revelation of her sleeping with someone else, then him sleeping with his son’s English teacher and 8 other women, and finally back around to them falling in love all over again.  Again, very predictable, but still beautiful. I think that’s what I love about rom-coms the predictability of a happy ending.

Shakespeare In Love

Shakespeare in Love - Review
Hello all,
I recently watched the movie "Shakespeare in Love" and wanted to write about it. I quite liked it.
+William Shakespeare
I was expecting an old-fashioned movie with confusing language and that I wouldn't understand the film at all. But I think they've modernised it to an extent to which it's undertsandable but still realistic. Good job there John Madden.

Throughout the film I was completely intreagued, but I don't know if that was because of the goregous eye-candy and accent of Shakespeare (played by Joseph Fiennes) or the story. At first the story was exciting, this rich beautiful maiden, Viola (played by the stunning Gweneth Paltrow) who didn't play by the rules and who do anything to be the woman she wanted to be, even if that meant dressing up like a man.

I loved how the bond between Will and Viola instantly became love after about 2meetings. Similar to Romeo and Juliet, it didn't take long at all for them to fal in love. And when they did, it was magic, Though the love was seen to be wrong and forbidden, it was the most pure, hympnotizing love i'd ever seen. They were so engrossed in eachother. The acting, I thought, was amazing, it's rare, in romantic movies that you're really convinced the lovers are in love. These 2, there was no question, their eyes and expression made you feel all the emotion of every word they spoke. Though maybe that was because the movie was based on the guy who wrote the most intense romance of all time.

I also enjoyed how as their love developed so did the play he was writing, and how you saw the progression of Romeo and Juliet being written.

Lastly, I was exprecting more of an ending. I thought, maybe Lord Wessex or Viola would have suffered a major death or trauma. But it was very simplictic, quite sad though. Viola was forced by the Queen to join her husband Lord Wessex in Virginia, whilst Will Shakespeare must remain in London and he carried on writing plays. Though I was expecting more drama, I thought it was very clever how at the end it showed Will basing his next very well known play "Twelth Night" on his love, Viola.

Overall, not the best movie I've ever seen, but I'd watch it again and reccommend it to you guys.

Anyway, I hope you all have a VERY Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I'll write to you all in 2013 ;)
Seasons Greetings!

The X Factor - Final

Those of you who have been watching The X Factor UK this year know that last night Christopher Maloney went home last night much to my relief. And there are 2finalists left, two young brilliant, hot guys with incredible voices. Jahmene Douglas “The little guy from asda with the big voice.” And James Arthur, the big tough guy from the small unknown town. But I want to take this opportunity to talk about all the 12 finalists.
Carolynne Poole- After being in the judges houses last year with Louis’s lot, her confidence was knocked when she didn’t get through, but she came back fighting and ended up with Gary’s lot this year. She was a country singer and the first to leave. If I’m honest I wasn’t a huge Carolynne fan, as Gary said, she does have a great voice, and it’s just really not my cup of tea. If I’m listening to country music it’s only Taylor Swift.

Melanie Masson-. I actually loved Melanie’s voice. And her style. Her personality. She seemed so awesome. I mean that voice, plus that amazing hair, topped off with her down-to-earth personality was amazing. I thought her voice was strong and powerful, but I don’t think she would have won, but I did think she was better than District 3.
MK1- After letting one of their band mates go in the auditions and making it into the live shows as a duet, MK1 were in the bottom 2 with Kye Sones, week 3. I flipping loved MK1. I loved their unique-ness, their energy, their look and their chemistry together. No, they weren’t the strongest vocalists but together I think they had the potential to go quite far and I think it’s a shame they were let go so early on in the competition.

Jade Ellis- She had a bad throat in week 4, and was sent home. Jade Ellis, the beautiful, young, inspirational mum with a killer voice lost out. I loved Jade, I thought she deserved to do well, and she was so strong. Despite everything she’s such a beautiful happy person. And I think she’ll still go far now, I hope now that her and her little girl will live happily ever after :)
Lucy Spraggan- After being ill for the second week in a row, Lucy was sadly withdrawn from the competition. I loved Lucy; I thought her audition was so so good. I’ve actually downloaded that song and I’ve been playing it over and over. I thought she was such a great songwriter, but again not the strongest vocalist in the competition. What I really want for her is to write a song/collaborate with Ed Sheeran that would be a dream come true for me.

Kye Sones- week 5, the week we lost Kye. He was the chimney sweep that everybody sympathised. I never usually loved Kye’s performances but when he sang “I won’t give up.” In the bottom 2 with Rylan I thought he sounded amazing, like super amazing and I don’t think he should have gone.

District 3- Not much to say about District 3, I never really liked them. I respect what they do and I think their voices are nice, not great. I always kind of preferred Union J, I wasn’t really sorry to see them go in week6.
Ella Henderson- Week7, the biggest shock yet, when 16year old Ella was eliminated. Everybody thought Ella was a sure finalist and NOBODY expected her to go home at this stage. Not only that, but she was in the bottom 2 with James Arthur. Now somebody tell me that makes sense? I was devastated that she went home, but also glad James stayed. Ella will go really really far despite this.

Rylan Clark- Rylan is marmite. You love him or you hate him. I personally loved him, I thought he was a brilliant entertainer and when everyone hates on him it really makes me sad.  When he came back last night and sang ‘gangnam style’, I was ecstatic; I literally got him and started dancing along with him. I think after this, everyone is gonna want a bit of Rylan.
Union J- Not my favourite act in the competition, but Union J were pretty good. Not only that I think since their audition, and Josh being put with the, they’ve matured so much, they’re hot, they’ve got good voices  that harmonise nicely together and I think they’re gonna do well, though there may be a little competition between them and my favourite boy-band, ONE DIRECTION<3

Christopher Maloney- Right, well I don’t mean to sound rude, but why was Chris even still in the competition? I do respect what he does, and I think his voice is ok. But when acts like Jade and Ella have been eliminated and he’s still there it worries me. They are two incredibly talented girls, and though Chris “can sing” in some people’s opinion, I really think he should have gone home week2, instead of Melanie.
Finalists
Jahmene Douglas- “From frozen foods to warming hearts.” Nicole’s little lamb chop, Jahmene is un-doubtabley one of the most adorable people ever. His smile and laugh and shyness is the cutest thing. But when he sings, damn does that shy little boy go away, he’s got a fantastic voice and last night he stole the hearts of everyone in Britain. Whether he wins now or not, he’ll never have to go back to his job in Asda; Jahmene Douglas is going to be one of the most successful singers in 2013. I think he’s got a bright beautiful future.
James Arthur- Damn, James bloody Arthur is just wow. Words do not even begin to cover how great he is. His first performance last night blew me away, I was speechless. He sings with such attitude and meaning, you can literally feel the emotions he is feeling. His voice is an utter eargasm. And as well as that, he’s un-believably sexy. He’s been getting so much female attention ;) I know me and my friends totally fan girl over him. He’s gorgeous and I don’t wanna be biased but I want him to win!
So tonight is the final, who do you lot think will win? Comment below and let me know J

Ciao!

I disapeared.

Hello loyal readers,

I don't know how many of you visit my blog regularly, but if you do you'll notice i've been absent for quite some time. I do have a reason, but it's not very good. I've been procrastinating, doing homework, thinking, being an idiot mostly. But I am happy to say I am trying to get back on track with things.

I've got a little homework to do today but i'm hoping to finish quickly and write a post. I am not promising anything but I will try my best. I miss writing! I wanted to write about breaking dawn part 2, this book I read, some new music, but I've just been a bit of a bozo.

So I gotta go work now but I'll write soon :)
